NEW RIVER/GREENBRIER VALLEY
New River/Greenbrier Valley, located in beautiful southeastern West Virginia, is host to a majority of the state's scenic public parks. Hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing and wildlife watching are popular activities throughout the year.
The New River Gorge is a favorite spot for white water rafting and rock climbing. In addition, the region contains more than 100 deep caverns containing some of the largest stalactites in the nation.
There are so many things that make the region unique. For example, the Greenbrier Valley contains numerous natural mineral springs, some of which have welcomed princes and presidents. In Lewisburg, you can step back into the 18th and 19th centuries in the National Historic District featuring dozens of galleries, antique shops, unique boutiques and restaurants. Walking and driving tours are available to educate people about Colonial and Civil War history.
