The Riverside Retreat

Located less than ten minutes from downtown Elkins, The Riverside Retreat offers a quite, relaxed vacation spot for a single person, a couple or a family of up to six.  The 360 square foot deck located on the Shaver's Fork River offers a great place to use the gas grill, picnic, read a book, or just watch the world go by.  The fully stocked kitchen, DVD player and cable TV provide the essentials of home, but the get-away environment.

The cottage has a large bedroom with queen size bed and cable television.  Bunk beds and a queen size sofa bed are located in the great room.  The fully equit kitchen and dining area for six people (plus breakfast bar) provide plenty of space to eat, play games or just sit and chat.  The large deck has seating for eight the bank offers great fishing and  a fire pit is located along the river so that you can enjoy the evenings and perhaps roast some marshmellows.

Linens, cookware and dishes are all supplied to the renters.  Food, towels for outside use and paper products are not provided by the owners.

Well-behaved pets are welcome at the Riverside Retreat for an additional charge.  We enjoy traveling with our pets and hope you will bring your friends along.

Located near numerous hiking and biking trails and four excursion trains provide guests with a variety of activites.  Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls, Snowshoe Ski Resort, Timberline and Canaan Valley ski resorts, White Grass cross country skiing, The National Radio Astronomy Observatory and Gaudineer offer wonderful excursions a short distance from the Inn.  The American Mountain Theater (Branson Style entertainment) attracts people from many states as does the Augusta Hertitage Program.  Enjoy a great dinner along the river, a free concert in the town square, bird watching in the 1,000,000 acre nation forest or just sit and read a book on a bench in the woods.

Our standard rates of $130 per night and $850 per week apply from April through October.  Rates of $110 per night and $710 per week apply from November through March.  These rates do not include taxes and are for up to four people.  The cottage will sleep six and each additional person  over four is charged $5 per night plus tax and each pet is $5 per night plus tax.  A $100 security deposit is required as is a contract.
