Wildwood Inn & Antiques
The 1st bed & breakfast in the county and among the first in the state of West Virginia, the colonial style cottage was built in 1972 and sits within a cove on a hillside surrounded by trees, laurels and rockcaves located within site of US Rt. 19 & St. Rt. 39 intersection in Summersville. Wildwood Inn has been the host to guest & travelers since 1987. The inn is just a few minutes from the Summersville Lake with boating, swimming and water sking. Great rock climbing is just a stones' throw, 20 minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge with plenty of fabulous whitewater rafting. The new Summersville Armory is 3 minutes away. A very nice walking/hiking trail is located across the road from Wildwood Inn located inside the city, and much more to do in this little town of approximately 5,000 including nearby areas. The inn has 3 smaller bedrooms (none of which smoking is allowed), 1 with private bath, 2 bedrooms with shared bath located in the hall, all of which is decorated with antiques and collectibles. The long gathering room/commons area is also the library room with plenty of hardcover books for the guest who enjoys reading and is also furnished with a gas fireplace, t.v., vcr, games,phone, etc. (The innkeepers live in the far end of the inn, separate from guest). Central air & heat, all rooms have ceiling fans. 2 outside gazebos for relaxing, outside swing, easy parking. Breakfast may be deluxe continenal or full served in the dining room furnished with antiques and lovely antique dishes or old resaturant styled dishes are used to serve breakfast. Evening dinner served to guest with advance reservations. We also prepare box lunches for hikers, bikers, or those who want something for later on in the day at a small price. Smoking outside only. Children welcome. No pets. Cost is $80.00 a night for double occupancy and $60.00 a night for single occupancy which includes breakfast. Family rates available. Extended stay or winter guest at a reduced rate when available. Cash, check, credit cards. We're close in town, yet guest enjoy the privacy at Wildwood Inn.
